Knowledge
Knowledge is where what you know lives: notes, contacts, procedures, plans. Documents are plain Markdown files in a Goethe vault, so they stay readable by any editor, and Goethe understands them: their types, links, tasks and calculations.
Vaults
Each identity can have its own vault: yours, each company's, the household's. Your accomplice has a private one for its goals and diary. The Docs vault holds this manual.
The vault picker at the top switches between the vaults you can open. Acting as a company opens its vault; if it has none, Knowledge offers to create it (Mandala restarts to load it).
The sidebar
A real document manager: Documents, Types and Views, documents grouped by Folders or by Types. The sidebar is wider, resizable and remembered. Folders open and close and show their counts. Alma's memory lists what your accomplice remembers.
- + (New document) asks for a name, a folder and a type (or Plain document) up front. Renaming a document's title renames its file.
- Drag and drop documents between folders; select several with ⌘/Ctrl- or Shift-click.
- Move to…, rename (F2), duplicate, and delete, which moves to Archived, where Restore brings it back.
- New folder, and ⌘X / ⌘V (Ctrl on Windows and Linux) to cut and paste.
- Every move can be undone (Undo).
- Tidy up asks your accomplice for a better structure, which you review before anything moves: Folders, moves and tidy-ups.
Writing
The editor is Markdown with live preview: headings, lists, tables and images render as you type, and the source is one click away.

Changes save as you type. If someone else edits the same document (another tab, another person, your accomplice), you see their typing live ("Live" in the editor), and edits merge.
The right panel
For the open document: Links and Backlinks, Derived fields its type computes, Diagnostics (fields that do not fit its type), and Actions its type offers. Think through this with Alma opens a conversation about it.
