Notifications
Your accomplice notifies you when something needs you now, when it replies while no Mandala window is open, and when an approval waits.
Turn them on, per device
Settings → Accomplice → Notifications → Turn on on each device that should receive them, and allow notifications when the browser asks. Devices that receive them lists every device; Remove one, or Send a test.
- iPhone: add Mandala to the Home Screen first, open it from there, then turn them on (Install the web app on your phone).
- Android, Mac, Windows, Linux: any browser with Web Push.
- The address must be HTTPS (Tailscale and HTTPS).
Notifications go through your browser vendor's push service, encrypted end to end; the signing key (VAPID) is created on your server and never leaves it. Expired subscriptions are dropped by themselves.
Apple push for the native apps
The iPhone and Mac apps receive notifications through Apple's push service, with Approve and Deny on approval requests (after Face ID).
- In your Apple Developer account: Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles → Keys → +, with Apple Push Notifications service. Download the
.p8file (Apple offers it once). - Settings → Accomplice → iPhone and Mac apps → Apple push key: upload it with its Key ID and your Team ID. Mandala checks it signs, then keeps it on the server, never returning it.
- Open the app and allow notifications. It appears under Apps that receive notifications.
What triggers a notification
- Your accomplice decides something needs you now (money owed, an unhappy customer, a delivery problem, a deadline).
- It replies while no window is open.
- An approval is requested while no window is open.
Coming soon — quiet hours, at most two interruptions a day, and "not this kind again" on every notification.
