The Server edition

Coming soon — a packaged Server edition with its own terminal interface. Today the engine is available as the dhl-engine command for developers.

The Server edition is Mandala's DHL engine without the Workspace: no web app, no accomplice, no vaults. It runs a business's contracts on the business's own servers, serves their generated API, and lets people's Mandalas act on it as clients, under the business's delegations.

Use it when an organisation's operations need their own always-on authority, separate from any one person's home: an online shop's orders and stock, a company's payables shared by several people.

Planned

  • One binary, configured by a file, run as one service.
  • A terminal interface to install contracts, watch nodes and voters, inspect records and receipts.
  • Clusters of several voters for availability (Clusters).

Today: dhl-engine

cargo build --release -p dhl-engine --bin dhl-engine
dhl-engine compile contracts/std/business/payable.dhl
dhl-engine describe contracts/std/business/payable.dhl /tmp/payable-api
dhl-engine api <config.json>

compile checks a contract and prints its artifact id; describe writes its OpenAPI, GraphQL and protobuf interfaces and its description; api serves the generated API from a configuration naming the authority nodes and installed artifacts. See Command line.
