Folders, moves and tidy-ups
Documents live in folders under docs/. Links survive every move: when a document moves or is renamed, every link to it, and every relative link from it, is rewritten so it still works.
By hand
In Knowledge's sidebar: drag and drop, Move to…, rename (F2), duplicate, New folder, cut and paste (⌘X / ⌘V), and delete to Archived with Restore. Undo reverses any move, including the folders it created. See Knowledge.
Tidy up with your accomplice
For a messy vault, press Tidy up (or ask "tidy up my vault"). Your accomplice reads the vault and proposes a plan: a clearer folder structure, moves, renames, merges of duplicates, title and front-matter fixes, each with a short reason. It never touches docs/diary/.
The Tidy-up plan opens as Before and After, item by item (New folder, Move, Retitle, Fix fields of, Archive…):
- apply all items, or only those you keep;
- Ask Alma to change the plan;
- Discard it.
After applying, Undo this tidy-up puts everything back, as long as nothing changed since.
Asking directly
Your accomplice can also create folders, move, rename and duplicate documents when you ask. In its own vault it does so freely; in yours, or a company's, each reorganisation waits for your approval, with every move listed on the card.
